hi. I am really growing intolerant of my pdoc. For 2 weeks I am supossed to stay on a low dose of wellbutrin. 100mg. He didn't want me to select other options. Such as me trying out other meds just to see how they effect me on the first few days. because with paxil and effexor I could tell they were making me worse. So I couldn't try out some meds. Instead I just have to keep taking this wellbutrin and zyprexa 5mg at a low dose.The doc and his rediculous logic said that it's best to keep me at the lowest possible effective dose since I have been very intolrant of the other meds. Which is nonsence. I had almost no side effects at all! But of course he wont listen. Those meds made me worse. I am sick of waiting. So now we'll have to see 4 weeks of this tiny dose of wellbutrin. Then and only then will we be able to raise it if 100mg doesn't help me. Of course it probably wont! I am getting so sick of this nonsence. He doesn't even listen to me. I dont want to have to wait 2 months in order to see if wellbutrin along with the zyprexa will be effective or not effective.
Oh one thing I remember is that he said since I am taking two meds together they will act like a normal dose of a med. Is this true? Can 100mg wellbutrin SR with 5mg zyprexa be good for depression with extremely poor concentation?
So far I have not had any side effects at all except the sedating effect of zyprexa 2 hours after I take it. Also increased appetite which is good since I have been too thin. The Wellbutrin caused no side effects except less appetite so now my appetite is in the middle somewhere.
Is my pdoc crazy or can the low dose of wellbutrin SR and the 5mg zyprexa actually work very well for me? Also my depression has been extremely severe at times. I am so sick of this nonsense. I need to be on an effective dose.

I think 100 mg. is a very low dose. I've heard 300 mg. is necessary to have a therapeutic effect. I've been on 300 mg. for more than two years and I've tried going down to 150 mg. but that's too low for me. I'm going to keep trying to reduce my dose though because I definitely believe in taking the lowest dose necessary.
