Pdoc increased dose to 300mg
one packet of 150mg says take one daily.
Other packet of 75mg says take one twice a day.
Why can't I take two 75mg at once.??
So take 150mg twice a day?

Dreamer - You can take 150mg once daily. When Wyeth-Ayerst first marketed Effexor XR, they said to take it twice daily in divided doses. Subsequent, real world (naturalistic) studies have shown that the XR version of Effexor only needs to be taken once daily and is still effective (ie. one capsule lasts a full day).
Some people still split the dosage because of side effects or because they feel as if they are not covered by the antidepressant for the full day. Taking a medication once daily is a lot easier to remember than taking it twice daily, for most people.

The pharmacist must of got it wrong.

No problem dreamer. Take all 300mg at one time. I do. There is one thing I should mention; after 4 months of taking Effexor XR and 3 months at the 300mg level, I do find that for the first hour or so after taking it in the morning, I feel both activated and tired. It is a weird feeling and hard to describe, but it is not really annoying, just "there".
A pharmacist be wrong? Do tell! < sarcasm >. Actually, if a pharmacist doesn't see certain drugs all of the time, they will only read what they are given to read (if they do that) and will believe what is in the "book" (PDR or CPS). BTW do not feel that you cannot question your pharamcist. If the pharamcist says that he/she has never made a mistake, it is either their first day, or they are lying. It is impossible to keep up on all the advances in all the disease states. That is why many of us (pharmacists) are finding niches where we can know "a lot about a little", instead of "a little about a lot."
It is fine to take the Effexor XR once daily, but not the Effexor Regular.
