Does this drug help sexual function or cause dysfunction? I am considering trying it to help depression and/or help sexual function. What do you all know about this drug? What will it do to a depressed patient?

Hi PG.I don't know for sure whether Zyprexa can reverse drug-induced sexual dysfunction, but it shares with Serzone a specific serotinergic property that is well known to do so. Zyprexa has been used successfully to augment antidepressants, particularly Prozac. It does work. In fact, some people actually experience an antidepressant effect from taking Zyprexa alone. Lower dosages are usually used for depression as compared to those normally used to treat psychotic manic or schizoid episodes.

I don't think that Zyprexa will reverse any sexual problems. It is on the other hand a good AD augmentor. I have had good success with the AD qualituies of Zyprexa evn though it didn't help the sex problems. I don't think there is a miracle drug to bypass the problems inherent with many AD's.
