"Nasal Reflex Neurosis" or how they butchered Emma.
"Emma Eckstein (1865 - 1924) was an early patient of Sigmund Freud who underwent disastrous nasal surgery, undertaken by Freud's friend and confidant, Wilhelm Fliess."

(It seems that most articles spell Wilhelm Fleiss, not Fliess.)
I find it horrific, too. I read an article many years ago which detailed how Freud and Fleiss communicated about Emma. Everything was blamed on hear "nasal neurosis".

I have an ex-husband who does the same thing, and I suspect I had a T who did that too, but who can blame them? They're victims too, and if I were diagnosing Freud, I would say he suffered from little-man big-needs syndrome.

Thank you, lovely silly man, for putting Emma's words forever into the immortal sphere in which they belong .. so this is the stronger sex ...

Psst, my first ex-has a medical condition he "discovered" ... he's a scam artist ... he's getting himself a big name, or so it looks, from the outside, and it's built on superficialities, like him.
Do you suppose Freud was like that?
I don't suppose so.
I suppose that a man like that, with his post-mortem reputation,
well,
mankind wouldn't make that kind of mistake, would he?
Would He?
Does man piss in his own drinking water?
You bet.
How many entities are smarter than that?
