Joan Jett

Posted by verne on April 1, 2006, at 22:17:58

I love all kinds of music, bluegrass, irish folk, rock, and the usual folk crap, but I've always especially loved one song, "Little Liar", by Joan Jett, and today, just finally, had the gumption to order it.

I'm not even into rock & roll or the punk thing, but Joan Jett works for me on every level. She's got a few cliche hits like "I love Rock and Roll", but "Little Liar" stands alone.

My other favorite artists are Talking Heads, Leonard Cohen, and Joni Mitchell. Kinda sad really.

Perhaps, "Little Liar" defines as much as Wittgenstein? He might be the first to agree really.

You guys have been so kind to me. I'm really not doing well and need and break. I need some real time healing. Actually that's an understatement but I don't see how anyboodle from babble can help me in any sort of real way.

I'll probably muck through. I do not enjoy life. I do not enjoy waking up.

That said, I always muck through. Please take care of yourselves. I'm in so much emotional pain... don't know.

You can't help me with words. I haven't (like Linkadge) been touched for years really. I pretended (like a troll i guess) to have a girlfriend. I really did search for a past girlfriend though.

I'm withdrawn, isolated. Hoping this sounds like a singles ad, I've been accused of being good-looking and even having dimples. I also used to bench press 315lbs at a weight of 150lbs.

Now 54, disabled vet, PTSD, among other things, I'm not so dimplish, or svelte. I hate myself and have no life. I basically do not want to wake up in the morning.

Others tell me I have so much going for me. I don't think I can be "cute" any more. That used to be good for something although the gardener keeps wanting to give me a "massage".

I love women but could easily have been gay. I mean, I was the gay guy in the tree house at the teenage sleep overs - yet it turned out i was straight in the end.

Now I'm hopelessly straight and alone - aging semi-cute, overweight, former dimpled weight lifter.

I've watched a friend and pastor raise his child, I put up with all the old southern baptist, anti-gay, anti-liberal jokes. I kept my distance and had almost zero contact with the son. Turns out he's gay and now the entire family is in crisis. I don't even see what the problem is.

I'm envious. I'm just old, straight, and not so cute.

this isn't to anyone in particular...

but i wish people wouldn't go :-(

and i wish people didn't hate themselves and think badly of themselves and stuff. i think i do more than enough of that for everybody, really.

sigh.

one of the nice things about this place is seeing how in isolation... one isn't alone.

i don't really know what i'm saying.

just that i feel for people...
nobody in particular...
but i feel for people.

i feel old and broken quite a lot.
my age doesn't matter.
the body is breaking down.
coughing up yuk stuff after a flight of stairs
the cigarettes will get me in the end.
aching back
aching feet
walk like a robot
ankles don't bend very well.
hunch back.

feel old. thats the point. old and ain't so pretty neither...

but i wish people wouldn't go...

i wish they could hang around...
and we can be isolated together. which is nicer in a way. though people fighting isn't so fun :-( or... maybe i get a kick out of it at times. i can be perverse like that sigh. but don't mean to hurt. never mean to hurt.

i'd give no one in particular a hug...
but i don't think that would go down so well...

i'd do it irl too.

all the people who just want a hug.
sometimes...

i just want a hug too.

and othertimes... i'm not sure what is wrong not sure what is wrong but really i think

i just want a hug too.

That can't be all bad. What's he like? No, seriously, how do people help each other anyway?

the gardener is a she. She does massages on the side. Word around town is that a massage with her is not just a massage.

the guy that put up my fence said he almost has a kind of hooker relationship with her, that the price of a massage kept going up. She keeps telling me she won't charge me. She even calls me up to ask when I want my free massage.

I guess I'm waiting for true love.

BTW: the guy that was gonna fix my dripping faucet didn't show up and I ended up drinking. I can't deal with waiting around like that. I got enough beer for today too. I hope I survive or live long enough to be sober. I would hate dying drunk or hungober.

I keep making more and more outrageous posts. What's next? Will I avoid the net tonite? Actually plan to start in about noon (less than 2 hours from now) My "investment" is on tv. Won over $1,500 at fantasy sports nascar last year and on my way to winning again this year. I used to do well at fantasy baseball but it's far too time-consuming. Less variables to consider with auto-racing. It's funny I used to hate auto racing, couldn't change the channel fast enough. bla, bla, bla.

my head hurts

My favorite nascar-related tv commercial is the one where 3 girls parking their car spot Kasey Kahne. That always makes me laugh.

Stewart whines too much for me and I finally dropped him from my team. He's too expensive anyway. Kenseth, Edwards, Kurt, and "Shrub" sort of rub me the wrong way too.

I like Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin and Bobby Labonte. Eliot Sadler is the ultimate nice guy but I had to drop him.

My dark horse (that noboodle has on their team) is Riggs. I also have Sorenson and Bowyer but not in my lineup today.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Lived all over that area from the Rocky foothills to the Oregon Coast.

I'm now in Iowa of all places. I hope to leave in a few years. We moved here in the 80's to pursue Transcendental Meditation at the Maharishi University. I lived on campus for several years.

I hadn't watched a nascar race until last year. I got involved in fantasy sports and was a quick study. A close friend from Arkansas doesn't miss a race. I think nascar is part of the Southern Baptist creed.

Stuttering fingers, I guess. I get all excited sometimes. ;)

Shoot, if I delete the duplicate, as I ususlly do, I'll have to delete these two, too.

Maybe I'll leave that for another deputy to decide.

Wanted that pretty much all my adult life.

Could of too, except for not having the right body, hair color, guitar playing ability, and singing ability. Other than that, I play the part pretty well last year for Halloween. Pictures were taken, but will not be forthcoming.

Scary, they were.
