Completely understandable! It doesnt sound disloyal at all, we need our space. Could you go to the library or a coffee shop or some other quiet place to get some space?

My husband works from home and I don't work. Togetherness took on a new meaning when I quit my job.

I schedule my own activities independently of his during the weekdays and we reserve the weekends for doing stuff together. I used to think of it as the "carry on!" way of living, just going about my business.

Did you see that LegWarmers suggested that you go to the library? I'll go with you. It is peaceful at the library.

That's exactly what's in the plans for today. That and go to my ex-workplace and turn in my keys and such.

I went to the library.

I talked about this a bit in therapy today. I think I've figured out what really bothers me. When I'm home alone, (Kevin!!!!) sorry, just had a movie flashback. ;) Anyway, when I'm there by myself, I am in the "let my hair down" really relaxed, unselfconscious mode. I didn't realize this. But when anyone is there, hubby included, I feel more self-conscious. I feel observed in some way. Not that he is actively "watching me", but I am not in the "let my hair down" mode.

And apparently, I really like and need that feeling. I guess the challenge is to feel free enough and unselfconscious enough to be authentically me, albeit maybe a bit more proper, in public and/or around other people.

It's sort of a subtle difference in the case of my hubby being home. T said I am projecting my super-ego onto him. And boyo, does he take that up and run with it at times (hubby).

Anyone else get like this?

I feel differently when I am home alone. Then nobody knows if I eat a whole big chocolate bar by myself. Or if I talk to myself. Or ... Well, I don't need to tell you ALL the things I do when I'm alone!

Sliding across the hardwood floors in my socks.

Singing random songs at random moments off-key.

Putting my feet up on the desk.

Going to the bathroom with the bathroom door open*
*note, check to make sure the blinds in the front room aren't up first! :D

I totally get the wanting to be alone thing AND the feeling like I need to be productive when he's home thing too. Afterall, I don't want him to think on my day off, I sit in front of the computer and check in on my babble friends, or ...

put the stero on really loud and sing (badly, not by choice) AND DANCE ... sometimes it even involves jumping on the coffee table (now I'm even cracking myself up, how pitiful am I?)

I also like to eat raw cookie dough when no one else is watching.

Mmmmmm, cookie dough (nm) » annierose
