Looking for Message Board for Menopausal Women

Posted by AdaGrace on May 9, 2005, at 8:45:39

I know this sounds really stupid, but I would like to find a message board or chat area for women entering or going through menopause. I know it's hard to believe, but there are so many wierd things going on with me right now at 40, that I would like to talk to others in the same situation.

Any help would be appreciated.

I looked around and found a lot of boards, but only these seemed relatively active:

Let us know if you find a good one!

Menopausal musings » AdaGrace

I was in the doc's waiting room the other day and watched a woman have a hot flash. I reached into my bag and got out a fan, one of the little folding ones, and handed it to her, and she took it. Keep it, I said, I'm on HRT now, and have more of those at home anyway. I was so glad she kept it, and I know she is using it several times a day. We talked, and it was so nice.

Menopause reaches across all cultures. Some north American women have said that women from Asian cultures don't suffer as we do but it's nonsense. Since I've started perimenopause (several years ago) I've asked many women from various Asian cultures and everyone says the same thing: it's very difficult and women often seek medical advice.

Anyway, feel free to babblemail me if you need to talk about anything about menopause. I don't know if I'll have any answers but I sure do have lots of sympathy!

I think menopause is reaching across my wide *ss and gluttonly belly, making me a b*tch 24/7, doing wierd things to my body on the inside as well as the outside, and I am deffinitely NOT liking it. AND it just started. Just hit me over the head in an instant and there it is, full blown madness. I hate it.

All this because the first woman the guy upstairs created coaxed a man into eating an apple???????

Therefore WE are punished????????

I don't think I have ever coaxed a man into doing anything he didn't have the slightest inkling to do already. I mean come on are they MEN or MICE?????

I'm beginning to suspect I'm nearing that time frame. I'm scared to death.

My other two brushes with major hormonal changes, postpartum and puberty, brought such unbelievably horrible agitated depression that I can't imagine going through that again.

Bring on the drugs. Estrogen, progesterone, whatever...

Dinah, I swear that last September when I had a major depressive episode, the best thing I did was get my hormones regulated FINALLY. How strange to be put on birth control pills at my age! I have had many ups and more downs since then, but I can say that my perimenopause *is* out of the equation.

my gyno put me on birth control pills too for the peri phase (at least i think it's that phase). All i can remember is what a monster i was in college while on birth control. I may never know if it's the pills or the phase itself that makes me such a crank at times.

Hmmm... That's a point

I don't remember being crabby or depressed on the pill (which doesn't mean it didn't happen). But my migraines got so bad I couldn't function and had to go off it.
