Now see, I live on a really really scary cul-de-sac. I think the little ones are too scared to come down my street, cause they may not get enough candy to make it worth their while!

The only ones we ever see are the kids who live on our street or the occasional teen ager in a car who has no costume and is much too old to be out trick or treating.

Sounds like your place is lovely. I like mountains and crunchy leaves.

Why thank you for that important reminder, Johnathon. I AM grateful that I don't live there, as I likely would be seriously oppressed. Or rather dead. Who needs a Halloween costume when you can just toss on your burkhah?

If perhaps you think I am being frivolous about this election, than you don't know me very well. Come to think of it, you don't know me very well. I figured the only negative I could get away with posting about our president was a complaint about a more mundane aspect of his campaign.

I suppose I could also post all the beliefs and values John Kerry holds which I do as well. But frankly, seeing Bush on the television standing in such a lovely ballpark and saying what he was saying had me a bit primed in the other direction.

Thanks again for your speedy feedback. I can't tell you how helpful it has been. I really can't.

I didn't vote last election because I didn't care. I didn't really see what difference it would make whether Labor or National got the coalition. I believed in oligarchies around then I think, and because I am so ill informed I didn't think that I should get to vote. But now I have given up on that one... We fought for the right to vote, and I agree that we should have that right - but I think it is a further decision whether we choose to exercise that right or not. If we don't care then I prefer that people refrain rather than just picking someone fairly randomly just because they think they have some obligation. Best I can figure voting is the right, and it is jury service that is the corresponding duty.

But now I see that it does make a difference (especially in terms of welfare policies).

There were student protests of Australia's support of the war when I was over there last summer. They were not happy campers.

I didn't find you to be pompous at all (PBC to yourself :-) - take care.

The Bushes could add a pretty penny as well. Maybe we could take back all the excessive money paid out to Halliburton to pay down the debt...
wouldn't that be nice?

Unlike Clinton's transgressions, the deficit is no joking matter. It practically guarantees that people with mental illness and the indigent will not be provided with the same life-saving resources that were made available during previous administrations. Bush literally took food out of the mouths of the poor to feed the rich. This is not funny at all.

I totally agree.
It's the poor who are suffering.
I imagine the families of the 100,00 dead in Iraq are not too happy either.
Let's just picture Kerry being sworn in at the next president for the next 4 years.
Okay?
I am on my knees praying for this to happen.
As if my very life depended on it.

Yes, great idea Jai! I got an email some time ago calling for 60 seconds of visualization per day of Kerry winning the election, taking the oath of office, etc.

Let's all take a few minutes and visualize our hearts out. Make it real, folks!

There has to be some power in combined energy!

What if you can't think of anything positive to say about either candidate?

That's great! I managed to push myself out the door to get it done too. I hope the greater number of turnouts represents an undecided vote. I think that would favor Kerry.
