Roughly one-third ...

Posted by Willow on August 8, 2001, at 5:28:49

of these messages I've typed. Okay, I am well aware that at times I do not know when to keep quiet, but surely there are others out here!?!???

Well I can always give you the weather report for today: Helsinki 20, Cairo 35, someplace northeast of India (I think Pakistan) 45 for those who like it hot, Toronto 35. Moose Jaw yesterday hit 38. What is going on?

Good grief, last night when I went to bed the weather forecast promised Saturday night would be in the single digits and Sunday a high in the teens, but today it's reporting temps in the mid 20s. Agggh!

Yesterday, in a nearby town a man was watching lightning and he made a good conductor. Don't try this at home children, it shocked him into another world!

Okay I think I can get back to sleep now.

Good Morning
Willow

So what.... Is that a problem? Heck, I have posted more in the last 3 days than in the previous two months.

At least you sound relatively happy.

If others have something to say, they know they can speak up without threat of egos and flames. We're a nice group here. Besides, dad, I mean Dr. Bob, has a big whipping belt. :-)

Do you have a warped side to you? A big whipping belt?

Warped? Me? well.... no comment.

But Dr. Bob does the equivalent of a big whippin' when he get mad: a nasty admonition to play nice, then account cancellation.

I am glad he doesn't have to do it often, just like I am glad my dad didn't have to use the whippin' belt often. :-)

I think he has mellowed a little, but jumps on the wrong guys too often.

At the sleep clinic I went to the technician was from Czech. (that's as far as I go with spelling that one) We were talking about how we talk out loud to our children, the same way our parents did with us. I always joke about locking mine in "the closet" and people give me the look of horror. Her reply was that here they really do it! So are you joking or serious??

Hi Willow,

the rest is "Republic" as in "Czech Republic"

Well, I was never locked in a closet by my parents. They *did* leave my sister on a street corner and drive off when she was only 4-5 yrs old but that was a mistake. :-) My dad *did* have the ol' whippin' belt, but I don't remember it being more than a threat. Instead my parents used a wood yardstick (OK meter stick for you non Americans). I remember it quite well :-0 Don't get me wrong -- I was not abused, but I did get my due course of punishment (well, still today my mother says I didn't get enough "straightening out" when I was younger).

Glad to hear ...

all was well!

Sometimes I call my mom out of frustration over my little dark angels and she tells me to give them one. I just send them to bed and tell them what grandma says.

I do remember running from my mom laughing and her chasing me, once I tripped the memory ended. : 0
