Yup, I'm 50 today! And I get to see my T tonight! My girls won't be home so I went ahead and kept my appointment with her with her knowing it's my BD. She said we could do something fun.........how fun can it be in therapy? I'm glad to get to see her though, my heart is hurting oh so much. With her help I will gain strength to find my way.
As many of you know I left my husband of 23 years 4 weeks ago. It's been harder than I thought it would be, but that's because he has done some very hurtful things. And he's done everything a person could do to hurt me over the years. On Sat. I called him and told him not to pick up our daughter to take her to school anymore because last Tues. when he picked her up he told her to drive (she has her license) because he was drunk! He denied that he was drunk and told me I was taking everything away from him and to leave him the hell alone and he'd find his own way. I said ok,and hung up.My heart is hurting, this man has hurt me more than anyone can ever hurt a person. I'm so glad I have my T to help me through this. We made several phone calls leaving voice mails to each other. She left some very helpful voice mails for me. She said her heart aches for me and if she cold she'd give me a hug. She said she'd be thinking about me and I truely believe she will.
I've been through depression and anxiety, but this is anxiety and a broken heart. I don't love this man the way I used too, but it hurts. Time will heal I suppose. I need my T to help me through this time.

Hi Ladybug,
I hope therapy is fun, maybe you'll play kid birthday party games. Pin the tail on the T comes to mind.
You are taking being the big 5-0 way better than I did. I hope some of your enthusiasm rubs off on me.

I'm glad you get to see your therapist on your birthday. I always like that too.
It's a shame that things are working out the way they are with your husband. But I guess it reinforces why you needed to leave.

I think you have given yourself the best birthday present ever - a brand new start!! And a therapy session to help you heal and forge ahead.
Divorce is hard. But getting out of an abusive relationship is worth the heartache and pain.

I hope you had a good session for your birthday. I know you are still gieving your marriage, but you did the hardest part I think. It can only get better for you. You have a lot more happy years ahead of you! I hope you did something special for yourself today. ;-)

The day was fabulous! I haven't laughed so hard in days!
One of the girls from my work brought some purple and black balloons with a cute over the hill one to match. She bought this mask for me to wear that was hilarious! It was of an old lady with long gray crazy hair. Everyone busted out laughing at me as I paraded around the building with my mask on carrying my balloons! It was a hoot!
I decided to wear my mask to therapy! I sat in the waiting room waiting for my T to come and get me. A couple came in and busted out laughing, their T came out to get them, she looked at me and didn't know if she should laugh or if I was some nut case sitting there!! My T came out to get me and started laughing and didn't know if she should say anything or not? I don't think she knew it was me sitting there. She busted out laughing! She told me to put the mask back on once we got into her office and sat down. She said "I want to see that again, it was just too funny". I had made a sign to wear that said, "ASK ME IF I NEED SOME HELP?" But I tore it and didn't wear it.
Anyway, fifty is great, not really but I had fun with it thanks to my friends at work and my therapist. I told her I didn't know if I dared wear the mask in the waiting room she said, oh yes you did, I know you, you dare!!!
I laughed so hard today, I'm worn out!

Happy BDay belated.
Thanks for sharing about that. I'm glad you got a lot of laughs, and that you had some friends & T to share it with!Hang in there with the new life on your own. I am sure you have your good days & bad. Even though you needed to get out of the marriage, I imagine it sort of signifies the official end of not only the bad, but the good times from early marriage days, and the dreams of what the marriage could have been.
I admire your courage.

I'm still celebrating! We are going to lunch at my work today and tonight I'm going with some friends to dinner and a movie. By tomorrow, I think the big birthday should be over? Except for the money I got and I need to go shopping with!
