I'm sure magnesium depletion as a cause of depression and many other things has been covered before but if not here's a link
http://george-eby-research.com/html/depression-anxiety.html
It's hard to think that it's gone unnoticed all these years, but OTOH it's hard to imagine a drug company funding research on a common metal. The argument is Mg gets removed from water by purification, and from processed food especially flour. Supplementation seems to have helped me but it took about 4 weeks. Funny how everything that works seems to take about 4 weeks. Is this the time taken to grow a new neuron?

I think alot of this could be due to placebo effect. I, too, thought that my anxiety/depression symptoms were MG related. I stated taking Mg - started feeling better. Then, after a few weeks, I felt bad again. Did the Mg poop out? Did I take too much? Or did I expect the Mg to work--and so it worked for a while based on my expectation? I'm just not sure.
