Hello everyone. I have General Anxiety, the real reason I have this is yet undetermined; however, I have taken some B12 supplementation over a period of a few days in the form of Methylcobalamin 5MG. I noticed that even if I take 1/2 or 2MG 1x day my anxiety is increased. I noticed this also in random trials of B100 complex time released trials. I don't notice any negative reactions with B6 with PSP 100MG.
Can taking B12 or other B Vitamin supplementation actually increase one's anxiety?

Vitamin B100 or B50 complex makes me much more anxious. I've found that a complete Vitamin B complex like the one below works fine for me, notice the much lower amounts of B Vitamins than the B50 and B100.

I also take Vitamin B12 sublingual tablets the dose is 1000µg.
Magnesium can be helpful as well, although for me the dose is critical because I can feel more anxious if I have too much.

B vitamins can worsen things for sensitive people. I am super senstive to Bs. I remember my doc gave me a B12 shot once. I had crazy nightmares and woke in a panic. Anxiety was fierce. This lasted about 3 days. If I take Bs at all, I only take a small crumb off a B50 tab and only about once every other day or so. I try to get all I need from good food choices.
For anxiety the B vitamin to focus on is Niacinimide. Not Niacin. It has to be the Niacinimide form. It has similar affinity for gaba receptors as benzo meds to.

I don't recall any anxiety.
My urine went red.

A deficiency of B12 is implicated in anxiety, however if you are vegetarian or a meat eater you shouldn't be deficient. Vegans are usually more susceptible to B12 deficiency.

Has anyone also tried Holy Basil as a herb?

I take about 400mg of powered Magnesium Citrate. I've tried Holy Basil tea and capsules, didn't notice an effect at reducing anxiety.

Thanks! Do you know what brand and potency of Holy Basil you tried? I did try the tea just to see if I would get any negative reaction and I didn't. If not mistaken, I believe a tincture form or Holy Basil is suppose to be better. I know that sometimes the form is what makes a difference, like with with Echinacea. It all depends on the brand, variety, and form. Most don't work for me but one particular brand by Solgar.

I don't remember the brand of capsules. The tea is called Tulsi Tea, I would think it's about the best brand of Holy Basil tea there is.
