Limu/Noni

Posted by wonderingstar on August 3, 2005, at 3:03:18

I was recently introduced to both The Original Limu and The Original Noni. They both sound to good to be true. Both products claim to offer better health the natural way. Besides one being a fruit product and the other being from the sea does anyone know what the real difference is between the two?

Also if both are so good for you can both products be taken at the same time?
And my father has severe allergies to shell fish so would taking the Original Limu be a no no since its a product of the sea?
Hopefully, someone can answer these questions.
Thank you.

Noni is Morinda Citrifolia, alleged to contain Xeronine which may help communication among cells, hormones, body parts, I dunno. Limu is the seaweed thing isn't it? They are quite different and could be taken together I'd guess.

There's a very informative thread on the Alternative board about both those products
Here's a link.

In my line of work I have found most seafood allergies to actually be allergies to iodine. Is your father allergic to all seafood are just primarily shellfish/seaweed/crab etc.? I know that kelp and seaweed products usually contain a fair amount of iodine and should be introduced with caution. Perhaps consulting your father's physician or allergist prior to introducing him to a potentially harmful substance would be in your/his best interest. I'm not sure what the iodine content is in the limu extract vs full on kelp, but it would be worth the research. As far as the efficacy of the two extracts, I'm researching them for myself now and have found a great discussion at the following link:

Check out the discussions they're very informative.
Good luck
