In my line of work I have found most seafood allergies to actually be allergies to iodine. Is your father allergic to all seafood are just primarily shellfish/seaweed/crab etc.? I know that kelp and seaweed products usually contain a fair amount of iodine and should be introduced with caution. Perhaps consulting your father's physician or allergist prior to introducing him to a potentially harmful substance would be in your/his best interest. I'm not sure what the iodine content is in the limu extract vs full on kelp, but it would be worth the research. As far as the efficacy of the two extracts, I'm researching them for myself now and have found a great discussion at the following link:
