Alternatives for stimulants

Posted by rjlockhart04-08 on January 30, 2012, at 13:57:58

I've posted much about this subject, and I know some alternatives such as:
Strattera
Wellbutrin
Clonodine
Nu/Provigil
Caffeine
Intuinv

and I have tried all of these with limited success, the only success I have more increased alertness from Nuvgil and Caffeine. The alternatives I have not tried are the Tyicylic antidepressants and MAOI's and Selegine. Now, I am in tough spot with this situation to find something that will do something to make me back to normal and have dopamine levels that will sustain motor functions, increased intrest of things I have lost intrest in, I have lost much dopamine from depression that I have suffered, the only thing that I read about that intrests me is reading about moral codes and the existance of unseen forces.

Does anyone have a theroy that will maybe help with this situation??

At this point I have no idea what you are trying to treat. Depression? ADHD, What?

I am trying to treat a problem with my depression and ADHD both, yet the depression has gotten worse making it hard to even leave the house because im in such depression. Of course, I do have substance abuse problem and its dormant right now.

Parnate might be worth a shot.

Why did you stop taking Nuvugil?

Matt you can't have an addiction in remission. Only when not taking the offending drug or med? What is the addiction to? Phillipa

Phillipa, most of my addiction is repeated redosing of stimulants. I do it all the time, its very unpleasant when the rebound period comes, that's why I either redose or take an energy supplement to prevent extreme fatigue.

I'm not sure that anyone would agree with me, but combining Effexor with Strattera might be worth researching.

My theory is: Come off the zyprexa and maybe you will get a better response from those meds you are talking about. Like the wellbutrin caffine stratera. I have not tried the others so don't know what to say about those.

What is your diagnosis? Just ADD? Or a psychotic disorder. If you need the zyprexa, maybe a lower dose. This would help with motivation, weight loss, and maybe the feeling that nothing works.

Rhodiola. DLPA. Tyrosine. Eleuthero.
