It depends. Here in the US, I don't think its a huge deal to get non-controlled meds. I think there's supposed to be a 90 day supply limitation on each shipment you receive, but they don't enforce that. I order massive quantities of Retin-A, no prob. Now, controlled substances--that's a no-go.

2 sites (both Indian) come to mind: [xxx] and [xxx].

Both of these are fairly inexpensive and don't require an Rx. Magicpharma has more psych meds. Neither sells controlled substances.

...prohibit posting those addresses. He has not allowed these type of URLs to be posted in the past. He or a deputy will generally come and ******* them out of the post.

From the FAQ:

"Please don't use this site to exchange information that could be used to import into the US:

****prescription medication without a prescription**** or
medication that hasn't been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration...."

He *is* an M.D. and it's unethical and unprofessional for him to facilitate people getting scripts without a prescription, or any other activity he knows or believes is illegal.

I am sure you didn't know/realize.... :-)

Whoops. I knew posting an addy for a place selling controlled substances would be a problem. I didn't know places for boring meds would be an issue.

10derheart,

Off topic:

Do you need to check your liver enzymes periodically with Strattera?

well......what a great question. Short answer: yes, I think it's prudent, although a case could be made I am overreacting as statistically I think the incidence is awfully low....first 6000 who took it in trials = 0 incidents....the one or two who did have serious liver problems later recovered without a transplant upon discontinuation....if my memory is any good. I *think* it recommends checking in the pt. insert but not how often, of course.

So.....when I started the med and I was still on active duty and/or getting care from a USAF clinic once I retired (10/2004), they gladly checked them every six months. I think military docs tended to be over cautious and also the fact insurance is not involved but instead taxpayer $$ may have been a factor. We always got outstanding care - period. Also, the med was brand new and they knew none of us *really* knew much about it except what Eli Lily shared, I suppose. This would have been 2004 - 2006 or so....then I transitioned to a civilian provider since as a retiree I really couldn't get an appt. without waiting for --- ever, which is understandable with limited resources which must go to the AD folks. My first doc (PCP) would have checked every six months if I'd insisted but she thought it likely wasn't necessary after reading the literature. So we went to once a year and that's what it's been ever since, through 4 different docs. In fact, I'm about to have yearly labs next week.

Any special reason you ask, if you wish to say? :-)

Well, I think even 'boring' meds obtained without a prescription are an issue for someone who wants to protect his medical license, reputation, etc. PB *is* Dr. Bob and the law may hold him responsible for certain activities that occur here if they end badly....no way to tell in advance. Not to mention I think he genuinely wishes to protect posters from something he sees as quite risky.

Makes sense to me. I'm sure those who wish to exchange such things may find ways that don't involve Babble, although I hope not. I understand the desperation, $$, etc., but there is danger, too, not to mention I'm not one to break the law if I can help it.

later.....
