Long-term parnate user -

If You're a (long-term) PARNATE User. . .

You probably know that this A.D. can be a bit energizing. I'd like to know if you've noticed a higher than average resting pulse. After years on this A.D., my pulse rate is usually 90-100, with normal blood pressure and no diagnosed cardio problems. Does anyone else have a similar experience with a high pulse rate while on Parnate?

I've been on parnate two years and recently spent a month in the hospital where they took my vitals three times a day. My pulse and BP are normal. At first parnate was a miracle for me. I was in a catatonic state and had been for nearly two months. All I did was sleep and cry. Now I find I can't sleep that way anymore, even if I am very depressed and would like to. I find that parnate has kept me from getting back into that state, but has not fully controlled my depression.

In any case, I think a lot of my depression is more psychological than biological. I had a terrible childhood and adolescence and get into awful bouts of feeling despair and hopelessness.

My p-doc wanted me to work with a DBT therapist to learn to stabilize myself with meditation and mindfulness techniques. And I have to say, although I still have awful bouts of depression, it helps to meditate and use the DBT coping skills. It keeps the depression from getting too hard of a grip on me.

I kind of think the effort put into be being mindful really only paid off after parnate ended my depression. now that i'm not taking it, i think the midfulness is useful for preventing relapse. the studies for it also seem to show greater effect for that.
