I've been on parnate two years and recently spent a month in the hospital where they took my vitals three times a day. My pulse and BP are normal. At first parnate was a miracle for me. I was in a catatonic state and had been for nearly two months. All I did was sleep and cry. Now I find I can't sleep that way anymore, even if I am very depressed and would like to. I find that parnate has kept me from getting back into that state, but has not fully controlled my depression.

In any case, I think a lot of my depression is more psychological than biological. I had a terrible childhood and adolescence and get into awful bouts of feeling despair and hopelessness.

My p-doc wanted me to work with a DBT therapist to learn to stabilize myself with meditation and mindfulness techniques. And I have to say, although I still have awful bouts of depression, it helps to meditate and use the DBT coping skills. It keeps the depression from getting too hard of a grip on me.
