I see my pdoc on the 24th and will be asking for Parnate. I know he will give it to me because I have been on it before.
Should I stop my Cymbalta and Wellbutrin now in preperation?
Can't wait until the 24th!

Did you have success on parnate in the past and if so at what dosage? Also did you use any other ads with parnate to achieve remission if you had attained remission?

Every time I upped the dosage I would feel better for a few days and than that would poop out. I gave up at 60 mg. Possibly should have gone higher. Seems like trd calls for higher doses of parnate.
By the way a former poster in here achieved remission on 80 mg of parnate and added ritalin. She did not achieve a robust response until she added in the ritalin.

Ritalin makes me crash. It was Adderall that I used. I don't think my pdoc will jump at the idea to add on Adderall right away. We will see how it goes with the Parnate first. If it needs a boost I would try Nortriptyline first. I really don't like using stimulants.

Yay! A plan--that always buoys me up a bit. I'm not sure what the washout period is for Wellbutrin. Can you take that while you taper / quit the cymbalta? Was also reading in The Carlat Psychiaiatry Report (posted by some one here recently--sorry, I forget), that one doc uses trazadone for ssri discontinuation.
Let's see what the parnate experienced here have to say?

You can combine Wellbutrin with an MAOI. But how do you know that your doctor will consent to doing this?
Did nortriptyline produce galactorrhea?

I sent him an email earlier telling my plans and am waiting for a response. He usually listens to me. I hope he does this time. :)

Hi Maxime:
I have had wonderful success with Parnate and Nortriptyline! First remission in 15 years!. I was on 450mg Wellbutrin. I tapered down, pretty quickly, but then had to have a 14 day washout period before I could start the Parnate.
Pdoc had me start a TCA and go up on it while I was coming down on the Wellbutrin and so I had plenty AD in my system while I had the 14 day Wellbutrin washout. It all worked well except that I chose amytriptyline for my TCA so I wouldn't get insomnia. It made me exhausted day and night. When I switched to nortriptyline it was and epiphany!! It's been about 3 or 4 weeks on the nortrip and I feel a little better all the time!
I'm a happy camper!
Maybe your doc will let you take nortriptyline while you are tapering down your other drugs and have your washout period.
I'm on 50mg Parnate and 25mg nortriptyline. I had added Provigil before I ditched the amytriptyline. Now I don[t need it that much.
I tried ritalin but it made me more depressed.

I just realised that I have big job interview coming up on the 27th and I have to do a big presentation. I don't think stopping my meds is a good idea right now. I will wait until after the 27th. I can't afford to screw this up.
