I was originally taking Lexapro for anxiety and OCD, but it made me way too tired. I just recently switched to Zoloft, and I am having the same problem. I took Lexapro for over four months and the fatigue never subsided. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm guessing that there are a few possibilities:
1. Add Wellbutrin
2. Add Modafinil/Provigil
3. Try a more stimulating SSRI (Prozac?)Could anyone give me the advantages/disadvantages of what I mentioned above? Are there any options that I am forgetting?

I had the same problem with lexepro. I tried option 1 and 3 but both made me really agitated.
I'm now on Luvox which is meant to be a more (if not most) sedating ssri but it's actually been really good and not causing the fatigue.

I have been taking modafinil prn for a year, I have taken it with Remeron and clonazepam, it works great for fatigue and concentration ability is so enhanced that if I stare at a point too long it will burn a hole. Without it I wouldn't have been able to work. Now I have added Zoloft to conquer panic attacks so I currently do not take modafinil, I'm currently on sick leave and perhaps I need to start taking it again when I get back to work.

I would just suggest that perhaps adding the energizing TCA drug desipramine to an SSRI might offer some benefit. This strategy might be no better than the others, but it is something often used by some psychiatrists to produce a more robust antidepressant effect. However, the Wellbutrin + Zoloft (Welloft) combination is also popular. If the fatigue doesn't dissipate, you can try switching to Effexor.

mav-- are you taking the luvox for ocd stuff or for depression? i just started it last week for ocd. the first two days, i was really strung out and couldn't sleep, but since then, i've been pretty sleepy and unmotivated, which has been a bit of a problem. lexapro was the first AD i ever tried, and it made me psychotically manic and suicidal, which my pdoc thinks is unusual. prozac has made me manic without helping much with the obsessiveness. how is the luvox working for you? does anyone have any suggestions as to what else i might try if i can't shake the luvox sleepiness?
thanks!
