Tianeptine

Has anyone found an adjunct to supplement tianeptine for the lack of motivation and energy?

A little bit of SAMe with it didn't freak me out.

I took 200mg in the morning.

I don't know about motivation and energy.

What didn't help with tianeptine.....
Parnate 10mg
mucana pruriens

Vinpocetine was OK with it.
Seroctin seemed OK with it too.

Eventually it seemd that tianeptine was making me feel edgy, and I stopped.
I take it now and then when I think it might help.

I actually found tianeptine to increase energy, motivation, and focus a bit, but psychostimulants are clearly one of the primary avenues. No contraindication.

Tianeptine tends to lower norepinephrine transmission in the studies (abstracts available upon request), so this might be what you're experiencing if you're tired and seem to be lacking "get-up-and-go". So again, psychostimulants. Coffee perhaps?

I like your technique of occasional use -- the drug seems well-suited to a quick mood-shift, to allow one to climb out of potholes, so to speak.

Thanks much for the advice. I'm taking ultram as an adjunct now and it also helped immensely in the past but is losing effectiveness. I am thinking of switching to Ensam as I have heard good things about it but we never know until we take it ourselves. I am always open to suggestions as I've tried everything on mkt multiple times.

My experience with tianeptine was not the best. After a wk. I was feeling very strange (derealization) & no big improvement noticed. My biggest problem is energy and motivation and I am at the point of non-functional which is the pits. Not sure if I need to start Ensam or another. Of all the drugs in past, amitriptyline of all things helped the most. Any suggestions out there? I've been thru everything on US market many times. With age our body chem. changes more than we realize.

That should be a clue (but not to me).

I also found tianeptine made me feel weird

To begin with there was a noticeable improvement in my mood and sociability.

That lasted for a year or even longer, and then it became less helpful.

You are right. I have never responded to the SSRI's and really only saw therapeutic value in the elavil. MAO's helped for a while but as I have gotten older I don't respond to anything. I think there are yet to be discovered neurotransmiters. I too have had the dereal. and depersonal. both while taking meds and without anything in system. I am not bipolar, wish I had some mania for a while. I started Ensam as of today and I pray it helps.
