Has anyone here been helped by taking Abilify for visual hallucinations and weird noises, not like auditory hallucinations with people talking, but more like hearing two people talking but can't make out what they say. I take an antidepressant too, Nardil.

I guess nobody had this experience before. My doctor says he wants me to see a neurologist. He thinks it is organic. This bothers me as what if the medication is doing this. I wish I knew.

I take Nardil too and haven't experienced any of those symptoms. I hope the tests turn up something as it must be frightening to experience what you describe. Hopefully, there will be someone on this site that may have some insight as to what you are experiencing. Hang in there..sometimes it helps to put a great big HELP in your subject line to grab attention, especially when there's a lot of posting going on..

My PCP is referring me to a neurologist. He thinks I am having seizures. It might have nothing to do with the medication.

It is helpful to separate what is "organic", meaning anything from seizures to god forbid tumors or lesions, which of course can only be seen on an MRI. Seizures I guess are probably seen on EEGs or other neurological devices.
You're right, it may have nothing to do with the medication, but it assures you and the doctor to move forward and stabilize you as much as possible, not saying that you aren't already "stable."

Thank you for your comments. I want to go off of the Abilify, but my pdoc wants me not to and even wants me to up the dose. I don't think it does anything. I doubt it has caused the problems I have because they started before the Abilify. I am wondering about the Nardil as well. I would just like to get off of it too, but my pdoc disagrees. I am tired of the med's and don't feel that depressed anymore, but he sees it differently. It is so hard to take this stuff when I really don't want it.
This is the end of the thread.
