well i have been on zoloft 150 mgs for now starting my 7th week ago with my 4th week on5 mgs of zyprexa and still not feeling real good in the mornings feel like im on a roller coaster. I went to the p- doc yesterday and he told me to stay with what i'm doing
because it can take up to three months to feel really good. Has anyone took this long to feel really good just wondering, please no nagative commets, Thank you Suebird

Can you elaborate a little more about your roller coaster symptoms. Has it gotton worse since you increased the Zolft? You have to be careful, with higher doses of an AD because it can induce and exacerbate this kind of cycling. You should be starting to get some relief by this time. Your p-doc might increase the Zyprexa next visit, if you are not better.

When i say a roller coaster I mean i'm up then i feel the anxiety come back but not as bad as it was in the be gaining. I just want to keep the anxiety where it is suppose to be. Just want the good days to out weigh the bad ones.

Yes I did it calm me right down and I have not been as anxious since I have been on the zyprexa.

Actually, I think you just answered your own question -- if the Zyprexa is effective against your anxiety, and the Zoloft isn't doing such a great job on it, then it might make sense to increase the Zyprexa... Seriously.

Some pdocs like to find one drug that fixes everything, which is great. If it works. It may be that you're not going to be one of those people who can take one drug and feel perfect. You may need separate drugs to address the anxiety and the depression. It sounds, from your posts, as though the anxiety is more of an issue than the depression itself, which is not uncommon. If that's the case, then either a less activating SSRI, or a combination of SSRI and atypical anti-psychotic for anxiety might be your best bet. Zyprexa, if it works for you, and you're not having too many side effects, might be the solution. If not, Seroquel is good for a lot of people, Risperdal is good for a lot of others, etc. There are a few good choices out there, and your pdoc should be able to figure something out.

It does sound, though, from your posts, as though you're improving a lot. That's good news, and I hope it continues to be the trend.
