Currently I'm taking 2 mg. Xanax XR and 20 mg. Lexapro for GAD and dysthymia. Lately, this doesn't seem to be working as well as it has for the past two years. I'm wondering if I should go back to Klonopin.
Does anyone have any experience with changing from Klonopin to Xanax XR? The patent on the XR just ran out so I am now getting a generic version. Do you think that could be the reason I'm not getting the same relief?
Thanks in advance.

I switched to Xanax XR from Klonopin and found Xanax XR did not work as well for me as Klonopin did. I switched back without incident.
I can't give any good insights as to why the efficacy wasn't there for me with Xanax and was with Klonopin. There was a big difference despite the tweaking of dosing.

I agree and klonopin always made me feel not good but the first time generic xanax xr was prescribed for me didn't do a thing so shelled out the money got the real thing much stronger. Didn't stay on it though as I like the regular xanax and valium better. Works better for me. Love Phillipa

Yes, as humans, we are made up of the same parts and we may be challenged with the same difficulties with those parts and their functioning, however, that kinship does not mean we will respond the same to treatments. There are big variabilities. Finding a good workable fit is the goal.
