Does other forms of Alcohol effect you oppositly?

Vodka, Gin, Rum, Burgady,

I have heard stories about people going NUTS on gin.

How do they differ?

There's no difference at all to me. One sip of any of those, and I wind up in detox a week or two later.

I suppose if one also had Diabetes, the high sugar content of Rum might cause other problems.

Whatever, it's all poison to me, all equally deadly.

They all contain large amounts of ethanol - the active ingredient that gets you drunk. Then there are congeners - chemicals that give the drink flavor and color. Congeners also have some psychoactive effects and may be responsible for the severity of the hangover next day. Vodka supposedly has the mildest hangover of all the spirits because it has very few congeners (clear, colorless and odorless). Absinthe has some interesting congeners, such as thujone from the wormwood used to flavor it, that can be hallucinogenic.

Although I quit ll years ago I didn't feel bad on beer. Must be something in beer? Love Phillipa
