Metabolite of PEA toxic to DNA?

I read this from an article, read the whole article for context. Its about mice lacking MAO-A, or MAO-B.

"Looking further into the matter, Dr. Shih determined that a spontaneous mutation in a single nucleic acid base pair in the MAO A gene created a premature stop which prevented it from being made into a protein. The scientists hypothesize that the mutation was due to elevated levels of the MAO B substrate phenylethylamine in the MAO B knockout mice. Phenylethylamine is a neuromodulator which, when broken down into its metabolites, has been shown to cause mutations in DNA. "

Does this mean that elevating PEA with a MAO-B inhibitor could be neurotoxic ?

With numerous statings otherwise,a sugggestion that Maoi elevation results could cause toxcity would at least deserve the respect of a few more studies, even two,is there anything else you came across,is this the only thing or is there more,i dont take value in anything articles any more honestly seems u find contradticory articles every where you turn.If you try to live off them your head will spin.
