my doc put me on 10mg of abilify to see if it can help with the auditory hallucinations. is the dosage to much. he told me take it at night. will i be up all night. i am kind of scared to take it. any advice

I started at 2.5mg with my target dose of 5mg. I may try 5mg but for now 2.5mg is working pretty good. I would start lower than 10mg. I've taken it both AM and PM and now that I'm use to it I will probably go back to PM dosing.
Don't be suprised if you feel a little restless the first couple of doses. If taking PM, don't take it right before bed, take it about 7:00pm.

I used to take 40 mg. of Abilify. It had no side effects, but no medication effects either.

Hi,
According to my references, the starting dose for Abilify is 10-15 mg per day, so 10 mg seems fine. And the side effects list includes both insomnia and sleepiness, so it's best to try it and see. You might be up all night at first, but you might also feel sleepy. Or you might feel great and not have any side effects.Let us know how you do on it.

i might try taking it in the morning instead. i'm trying to remember what it was like when i first started it way back when. i think i might have been sleepy at first-- i started at 10mg, too-- but then the activating effect took over. good luck!
