luvox dosages...

Posted by krybrahaha78 on April 4, 2005, at 16:27:23

to any of you that take Luvox----I take 250 mgs daily. I take 2 100 mg tablets at night and half of a 100 mg tablet in the morning. I have a hard time fallin asleep some nights. What if i took the 2 100 mg tablets in the morning and the half at night...anyone think it would work? I think the Luvox is sort of activating to me.

I once took it at the same dose. The higher dose was always in the evening before bed. I was also on xanax and chloral hydrate at the time. I guess you could experiment, but I think it has a short half-life. If I'm wrong others will post. Good luck. Fondly, Phillipa

My DS is on such a small dose right now, that I give it to him at night and it doesn't activate him too much. Then again, he takes a clonodine chaser, so that pretty much resolves any sleep issues.

But his pdoc said it was up to me when I gave it to him the Luvox. When he was on a larger, split dose, I was giving him the lion's share in the morning.

I would think it would be fine to switch, honestly. I can't see why it wouldn't be. You should check with your pdoc, of course, to see what he/she thinks, but in the end, it really is up to you and how your body handles the medication. You could always try it and if it doesn't work as well, switch back.
