OK, Zyprexa has helped quite a lot with the OCD, but I am a fat man....this detracts from my amazingly all-Australian good looks!!!!
Now, I am off to Seroquel land....I know Linkage thinks Seroquel would be a better choice 4 oCD- if you read this Linkage, can u explain why. Also, there are plenty of anecdotes and clinical trials showing the efficacy of Seroquel in OCD.
Doctors are stupid. Second last time I got of Seroquel, I was on Zyprexa for 7 months...so the dumb doctor ceases Zyprexa COLD TURKEY! Within a week, I was in a mess, unable to leave my room with a severe depression.
@nd time, after 12 months on 2.5 Zyprexa, this doctor again stopped it COLD TURKEY and went straight to Risperidone....within four-five days I was completely incapicated with a severe depression with major insomnia...
So I am the doctor now, and this is my schedule....
Week 1. Take Seroquel 50mg nocte
Reduce Zyprexa to 2.5mg every other day.Week 2. Take 100mg Seroquel.
Reduce Zyprexa 2.5 to every 3 daysWeek 3. Take 150mg Seroquel
Reduce Zyprexa 2.5 to every 4th dayWeek 4 -- Seroquel 150mg
Zyprexa ceased
Dudes, I would really appreciate any feedback and tips, from anyone...those who have used Seroquel for OCD or any other psychopathology. Antipsychotics work for my OCD as my OCD is so severe it represents as a prodromal psychotic D/OYou guys RULE!!!
BTW, I am going to the Australian open tennis, watch out for the crazy dude with a "I love Nardil" banner!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just take Seroquel to help sleep, no OCD indication here. I remember that when I first took Seroquel, the next day seemed really strange - colors were intensified, it felt like I had taken LSD the day before. That went away over the course of the day and really never came back.
I was taken aback by the side effects from that first night, and wasn't enthused about taking it again. Talked to pdoc, and he encouraged me to give another shot - it's been fine since then.
So, if you have a strange after-effect after the first day, pay it no mind, just hang in there as that side effect went away really quickly.
I am now taking 75mg Seroquel each night and as the months wear on, I find myself needing more and more. 75mg taken 9 months ago would have put me in a 24 hour slumber - now it only gives me about 6 hours of sleep before I start waking up.
I find Seroquel to be very tolerable.
