I just take Seroquel to help sleep, no OCD indication here. I remember that when I first took Seroquel, the next day seemed really strange - colors were intensified, it felt like I had taken LSD the day before. That went away over the course of the day and really never came back.
I was taken aback by the side effects from that first night, and wasn't enthused about taking it again. Talked to pdoc, and he encouraged me to give another shot - it's been fine since then.
So, if you have a strange after-effect after the first day, pay it no mind, just hang in there as that side effect went away really quickly.
I am now taking 75mg Seroquel each night and as the months wear on, I find myself needing more and more. 75mg taken 9 months ago would have put me in a 24 hour slumber - now it only gives me about 6 hours of sleep before I start waking up.
I find Seroquel to be very tolerable.
