Yes, thank you.

This make me think about the drugs we are taking now. Are people in 50 years from now gonna laugh at pictures and commercials about people like us with texts like: Feeling down? Cipramil will make you feel better! No sex, but what the heck! Sometimes i wonder how big the differences between us and lab rats really are.

Hmm..

Hi

My favourite has to be Eli Lillys 1951 product 'Ampherdroxyn' of (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) in liquid bottle form!

Imagine that, waking up in the morning to a decent spoonfull (or hyperdermic) of one of the strongest nurologic stimulants. It certainly had to have 'more up n go' than my morning Coffee and ciggy.

Damm!!! they had it good 50 years ago

Dame!!! the past drug abuses who ruined it for us!!

Cheers

Hi,

We occasionally use dextroamphetamine elixir in the UK as a maintenance treatment for addicts- a bit like methadone maintenance really. Methamphetamine isn't available at all here.

Hi Ed

Jeez, are you saying the UK has medical liquid Dexedrine? (I thought the UK had only 5mg IR Dexamphetime) I have never known this, and thought it went the way of many pre 1970 Amphetamine meds.

I know of Methadone (MMT), used for pain relief, and Opiate replacement for junkies.

I am guessing Dex elixer would be used for substitute Amphetamine abusers? Alcoholics?

Do you know?

Cheers

PS---I'm sure the UK has Methamphetamine-just not in Pharmacies mmmmmmm ;)

Hi,

Liquid dexamphetamine is not in the British National Formulary BUT we had it in the Pharmacy that I worked in over the summer! Perhaps it was ordered from a 'specials' manufacturer. We used it for a man who was dependent on high-dose dexamphetamine.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the reply. So what you are saying is, Dex elixer isn't in the docs PDR, or is usually not available or used or seen?

So if i understand this, then it *can* be especially manufactured for *rare people* in *rear circumstances*???

Would it be like a teaspoon for 5 or 10mgs? of Dex
I wonder what dose this guy was on?
Did SKF manufacture it?

Cheers

PS-You worked in a Pharmacy? Cool

I,m thinking:
A kid in a candy store

An Alcoholic in a Liquor shop.:)

Hi,

I've only ever seen dexamphetamine elixir once. I don't remember who it was manufactured by but I expect that it might have been Rosemont Pharmaceuticals. Rosemont is a 'specials' manufacturer that make a lot of unlicensed liquid medicines.

>Dex elixer isn't in the docs PDR, or is usually not available or used or seen?

What I mean is that it is not licensed (approved) but that it is (or at least was) still available to pharmacies.

>Would it be like a teaspoon for 5 or 10mgs? of Dex

I think it was probably 5 or 10 mg/5ml spoon.

I hope you're not talking about me!
