In previous posts, you've mentioned going back and forth between 150-300mg of Lamictal and I have a couple of questions.
If your taking 150-200mg Lamictal and want to go back down to 100mg, is it okay to drop down in 50mg increments? Any advice when experimenting with Lamictal dosage?
Also, when you are trying different doses above 100mg, how many days should it take to get a true read at a certain dose?

I am not a good example of what to do and what not to do with Lamictal. I have become pretty cavalier with what I do with the dosage of this drug.I think moving in 50mg increments with Lamictal makes the most sense. If you are too low, you will find out within a week as you lose the improvement. It has been my observation of others here on Psycho-babble that there is no upper dosage at which one loses the antidepressant effect. You can't go too high except for the appearance of side effects. I think your best bet is to continue to increase the dosage as long as you continue to tolerate it. Many people really do need more than 200mg.
What are you combining it with?.

I'll probably combine it with Prozac or Cymbalta.
My concern about going to 200mg of Lamictal is that at 150mg, I felt antidepressant qualities but also started feeling sluggish.
After explaining this to my doc, she suggested dropping but down to 100mg Lamictal, adding Prozac or Cymbalta, then see what to do with the Lamictal from there.
She said Lamictal is a booster for antidepressants but when you add an antidepressant, you also get a boosting effect from the Lamictal.
Did you feel a boosting effect on the Lamictal when an antidepressant was added?

Ive been on 400 for a few years and had dificulty going off it. When ever I decreased , I would becone extremely fatigued.
My object ive is to get off lamictal. I want to because I basically want to start fresh with meds and be on as little as possible.
I finally figured out how to do it for me. I was pm dosing 400 everynight.
I am now taking 50 in am, 50 at noon, 50 afternoon and 50 evening.
my body nenver knew i decreased it. In a couple weeks I'm going to change to 25 mg 4x.
Couple more weeks later 25 mg 2x
couple more weeks 25 mg 1x
couple more weeks off.
If you can imediately decrease with no side effects more power to you. I can't get off it withouit a slow taper

I just got up to 200mg about a week and a half ago. I also take 20mg of prozac. I am now finally feeling better. It wasnt until i was at 200mg of lamictal that did it for me. Prior to that, i was very moody and angry. I dont know if it that was from the lamictal or prozac. ??
