What is the equivalence between 100 mg Provigil and an equivalent amount of Adrafinil (Olmifon)? I have tried both and Provigil seemed to be more mentally stimulating at 100 mg then Adrafinil is at 600 mg.

I don't know. I didn't get much stimulation - at least not in a dexedrine/adderal type of way - from either Provigil or Adrafinil.
I find their stimulation, if you can call it that, to be much more subtle than the standard stims. Sort of like they're working more in the background - almost more of an AD type of feeling/influence, rather than a stim...
Anyway, my guess would be essentially the same as yours: 100mg Mod vs. 600mg Adrf. But that's just a guess, based on standard daily dose prescribing ranges for the two meds, and a very little experience w/modafinil. (more experience w/adrafinil)
Sorry I can't offer you any more than reporting similar experiences to those you described.

Well, it really depends on how you break up your doses over the day which really affects how strong you feel the different meds during peak times. I assume they peak in different ways. Modafinil seems a little rougher and more likely to cause a headache while adrafinil may upset your stomach if it is empty.I would say 100mg of modafinil is closer to 750-900mg of adrafinil. You can get a pill cutter and experiment perhaps.
It's hard to say because you can not go on the "amphetamine scale" of assessing these meds. They work best when your body feels normal and not charged or overactivated. Don't assess them in terms of bodily energy as much as wakefulness and alertness. Bodily energy is a factor and given by them both, but it's not really the principal aspect of either drug.
Either way, I would choose to have regular liver {hepatic} panels done even though it's not indicated for modafinil. I think every three or six months is good and definitely it's a must if you take adrafinil. You can ask your pdoc to administer that or your regular doctor. Just tell your doctor that you want to check things out in general if you don't want to let on that you are focusing on your liver, so you can ask for metabolics and your thyroid among the other things that should be regularly looked at. If every six months looks too often for your doctor then maybe you can stagger your liver panels between your pdoc and regular doc, so it can be once a year for each, but actually, it is every six months for you.

Fwiw - I believe modafinil is a metabolite of adrafinil. Not that that helps much w/your question...

Yes, I knew that Adrafinil was a metabolite of Provigil. I believe a COOH was substituted for an NH2. I use about 600 mg Adrafinil in the morning rather than coffee and its fairly mentally stimulating, but boosting it to 750 seems a reasonable course of action.

You can break it up: 450mg morning/300mg afternoon - maybe 3pm
Even though the peak plasma concentration of adrafinil is reached in an hour, and I think it's like 3 for modafinil, the half-lives of the metabolites of adrafinil are longer.I don't like worrying about peaks and valleys personally.
I don't know when adrafinil kicks in again after it's original peak, but it's action isn't limited to a few hours after dosing. That's a definite.
I like breaking up modafinil in two doses over the day.
This is the end of the thread.
