Has anyone tried Klonopin wafers?

Posted by CareBear04 on January 13, 2004, at 18:45:30

Hey all, I was just wondering whether anyone has tried the new Klonopin wafers. They're supposed to dissolve in your mouth and start working within a few minutes, which sounds wonderful, if it's true. It sounds ideal-- works almost immediately and lasts a long time. Any experiences? Does anyone know if the new version is much more expensive than regular Klonopin? Thanks!

I've taken the Wafers before, and the speed of onset and length of action are no different than with regular Klonopin. It's primarily a convenience thing -- being able to take your meds without water. As for price, I wouldn't know.

Just to parrot what ASV said in his post. The Klonopin wafers are cute and convenient, but the onset was no faster than with regular Klonopin.

I asked my doc to switch me back to the regular tablets. With the tablets, you have more control over the dose, because the wafers cannot be divided as tablets can.

If you're really needing Klonopin in your system quickly, you can (nearly) just as easily crush one and place it sublingually until it is completely dissolved. Clonazepam naturally has a slightly minty flavor...not at all objectionable.

One advantage is, as ASV said, they can be taken without water. To me, this is not an enormous advantage. Water is pretty easy to get these days ;).

Whatever the route, this is a fantastic compound.

Matt

Clonazepam is quite tasty. I think this is nature's way of telling us it's good stuff.

Not when experienced. Especially little xanex. Just swallow. Even w/ dry mouth. When you need your anti-anxity, you can take it. Am I alone??
My best friend and I both take xanex as needed. Her anxiety attacks are severely worse than mine. WE have no problems taking any pills without water. We thought it was kind of sad, they go right down for us . were used to taking them. Sometimes even for recreation!!! Lame, I know.
