I've had a similar reaction where the ssri makes me very emotional, angry and moody - worse than before I was on them. It seems like I can go from calm to rage and anger in 60 seconds and I'm only on a ssri, not any other drugs.

That's not a common thing, but it does happen to some people. That side effect might go away over time, or with a higher dose. Otherwise, maybe you should try a different class of antidepressant such as Effexor.

I experienced increase depression and other unpleasant effects while taking Zoloft, Celexa, Paxil and Lexapro.
My doctor and I came to the conclusion that SSRIs were just not the right meds. for my chemistry.
I'm now taking 300mg. Wellbutrin XR and doing very well.
Yes, it is possible to feel more depressed if you are not on the right meds.

Does it ever get unbearable (the anger, rage)?

When I'm in my angry-at-the-world state of mind, it does seem unbearable. I usually feel hopeless and alone. Fortunatly, once these "anger attacks" are over I do return to my "normal" self. It does really scare me that I go through these. I really hope they stop soon. I don't like the person I've become on ADs.

i had a similar experience with the snri milnacipran. i also was suicidal, for the first and fortunately last time in my live. there was a guest-psychiatrist at psycho-babble, he also confirmed that such worsening of symptoms can occur with all the antidepressants.

Did he say how to correct this SE of ADs? Will it correct itself over time?
