I'd Rather Have Insomnia Than Take Ambien!

Posted by Joey Valentine on October 22, 2002, at 14:41:29

Ambien, works like a dream! Oh, yeah!!! A nightmare is
more like it. I could write pages, literally, on
the effects Ambien had on me. I equate it with being
on alcohol and going into a blackout. So many times I
had to be told what I did the night before. I didn't
take any other medication with the Ambien.
I would go to sleep and, without realizing it, would
get up and roam around the house. Sometimes banging
into walls, other times hitting on my poor husband.
I'd take 10mg or 20mg (which the doctor prescribed)and
the reaction was all the same.

Has anyone else had this experience?????
My insurance company is only allowing something like
30 Ambiens a year (what they will cover). Perhaps
some of them had nighly blackouts, too!

I love the ambien. I would take it alot more frequently if I didnt build up tolerance to it.

I feel like I have control over the ambien. I will take it about 30-45 minutes before I want go to sleep, and in that time start slowing myself down with breathing and stretching excercises. about 30 minutes later I start feeling kind fud up, like maybe someone slipped a little mushy into my dinner. So I fart around with this altered state for a little while and then toss myself into bed. I am out cold. Unfortunately I always end up waking up about 4 hours later.
