wtm,
I am currently 6 1/2 weeks in (the last 2 1/2 on 150mg).
Some kind people on this board have offered me advice. One school of thought advise digging in there for the 6/8 weeks (with an increased dosage perhaps?) and others will say ,there are plenty of other ADs out there to try and you should be able to tell within the first week which ones might assist you.

I have not got a clue, who is correct and would guess that it depends on the person, but stand to be corrected.

hopefully, some of the more insightful folk on here will offer some better advice.

I've not noticed too much by way of assistance as yet, although the depression has been blunted/numbed to some extent, which is surely a result of sorts, but I'm not sure whether I can live with the detached feeling and the only two emotions I can muster at present; ('blunted/numbed' depression and anxiety)the odd headache, shivers and all round clumbsiness, but there is a virus doing the rounds where i live, so., maybe that's to blame..?

What is making the efexor difficult for you and what is your diagnosis?

Hope things get better and am genuinely sorry if i've confused you.

For the record, I'm sticking with it for a few more days, having come this far.

Regards

Paul

Does that mean I'm one of the least insightful ones? :(

(Just kidding, kind of.)

Michele,
Oh heck, seems like i've inadvertently started a flame war!
I explained my posting to Cindy along the lines of me being the least insightful, which is what i was driving at. Hope that clears it up!

Are you still coping FXR free? It seems like it from your post below. fingers crossed for you.

Still persisting with the FXR but I'm growing sick of the clenched jaw, the occasional nausea (which has occured only recently - like 7 weeks in!). The worst though is the clumsiness, the depersonalisation, the anxiety and the lingering depression.

However, tonight, been sick and tired of all of these I took a valium, which i use sparingly (not sure whether this is wise, but sure does the trick).

That maybe gives some indication as to the root of my prob. ie anxiety.

Keep us informed and hopefully it'll be good news

Paul

Paul,
No.. you didn't inadvertently start a flame war. I inadvertently read out of context! Sorry. I got what ya meant. But... even if Ya did mean it that way.... I'm the first too admit.... I'm not experienced in all this. :-)

I don't think taking a valium was necessarily unwise, my pdoc prescribe me some too... in getting used to FXR and to help on with the anxiety. As long as I kept it as an occasional use, he was all for it. It definately helps the hard parts.

How much time did you decide to "test" the drug? I can total relate to the depersonalization you spoke of. I didn't even realize till I stopped it... but I was like thinking in a fog. All the sudden my thinking seems clearer. Bizzare. And the clumsiness.. boy can I relate to that! Hopefully that will clear up for you. The clenched jaw sounds rough,.. altho I didn't experience that particular aspect.

Hang in there.... you are more insightful then you know!!!!!

Things are still going great on my end.. thanks for asking.

Good luck.... my fingers are still crossed for ya!
