I am seeing an increase in colledge students using DXM for its psychedlic effects. They take a four-ounce bottle of Robotussin Maximun Strength Cough many times a week. Are these people going to have long term brain damage? I want to know about studies of DXM. Where can I find information.

DXM may cause brain damage of a type called
Olney's lesions. Information about the
recreational use of DXM and the potential brain
damages can be found at

Actually, it's called dextromethorphan. I wouldn't normally correct a spelling mistake, but your word was really ambiguous given all the chemical names out there.
