SSRIs and vision

Have any of you ever noticed any vision changes while taking SSRIs?

I am on Celexa, and notice that my vision is sometimes "fuzzy" and blurry. Its actually very strange, but I think a possible side effect. Does anyone else know?

I notice the same thing on Prozac. My vision gets fuzzy and blurry sometimes. If I am looking at black print on a white piece of paper, or white on black -- in other words, some sort of high contrast-- in the blurriness I almost see a shadow image of the news print. I think it must be related to the Prozac, because I noticed this only after I started taking it. SSRIs apparently can affect the tear film in the eye, so some of these visual phenomena could be secondary to that.

oooh yes, I have! When I took paxil (for about 6 months or so) my pupils where blown every morning. I watched walls breath and looked like I had just dropped 3 hits of acid. ugh! then, after going off of paxil, I had visual "tremors"; it seemed that evrything around me was vibrating very fast. ick. it was really distrubing .now on celexa, no such effects, yet:)

On Serzone, I have noticed that I get visual "hallucinations" or something in one eye in the morning (kind of like vibrating electricity). I can see it with my eyes open or my eyes closed, for about l0-20 minutes. I have never dropped acid but it is kind of what I would imagine a visual hallucination would look like. Also, during the day, I get dizzy at times and my vision seems blurry. But I have nystagmus all the time anyway (was very premature at birth), so don't know if this has a bearing on the weird visual effects or dizziness.--Cindy

It is funny how sometimes we blame our meds on things we see and don't even worry. I began having flashing lights in my right eye, upper right fision field. Imagined it was just my Paxil. Eventually went to the Ophthalmologist, like 2 weeks later. I had holes in my retina! (NO PAIN!) He did laster surgery that day, says he "saved my vision." Man, the "other" population would have gone to a Doc immediately. We gotta learn to trust our instincts.

Alyse, did your Doc. say what might have caused the retinal holes. Is it possible that the meds. could have...???

Follow up...Aylse...
The Doc asked if I had suffered any "trauma" to my head. Had not. No explanation for the retinal holes.

The visual side effects caused by serazone are called light trails I also had them and my regular doctor sent me to an eye doctor because he did not believe they were caused by the serazone however my psych says absolutely the serazone causes this strobe light like vision disturbance very annoying and nauseated me when it happened.
