oops missed a bit out ... heres the revised one!

Hi all,

just noticed something interesting ...

A lot of you guys are reporting eye pain with Effexor Withdrawal. I don't know if this is going to be any help, but it seems that Sudafed Linctus, a cough syrup which contains Pseudoephedrine and Dextrometorphan, should not be taken IF YOU HAVE ELEVATED EYEBALL (INTRA-OCULAR) PRESSURE, because it can raise the pressure of the fluid on the eye. Now, this medicine can give false positives in drug testing for PCP.

Guess what can also give false positives for PCP? Yep. Effexor.

Sudafed is also contra-indicated if you have poor liver function. And guess which organ of the body effexor is known to affect?

Maybe some anecdotal evidence that effexor withdrawal is linked with these same opioid systems? It might also be part of the reason why a lot of these antihistamine meds aid effexor withdrawal. There is an antihistamine called Doxylamine Succinate which tests false positive for methadone. Guess which other drug effexor can give false positives to? Yep. You guessed it.

If anyone finds a practical use for this tenuous link, let me know.

NB The main chemicals I kept unearthing were: dextromethorphan, Doxylamine Succinate and pseudoephedrine.
