I was doing okay on my self-prescribed Effexor stepdown program (from 300 mg a day to 37.5 mg a day in three weeks and then yesterday and today the brain WHOOSH WHOOSH began, and I recalled the advice about Claritin on this board. I took one and the whooshes were gone in about an hour. Thank you to whomever posted it.
On the down side, I'm mean as a snake, ready to get a divorce from someone perfectly nice and cried while doing the dishes (first tears in years, but good God I was sick of napping and feeling like an emotional dial tone.) My pdoc is unaware of all of this, of course.
