I went into detox in Jan 2002 for Vicodin, but used it again since, back in March 2002. I was increasing my dosage and my ears were ringing really BAD. I started out with 5/500, then 7.5/500, then the big guns, 10mg.

I was taking them for really bad migraines, then realized how good it made me feel in helping me with my depression mostly. My doctor said I 'may be having rebound headaches' from it so I did stop.
I noticed that the 'euphoria' you talk about did wear off quickly when I took it.I haven't taken an opiate since April of this year (some Tylenol 3, my brother gave me, um that I asked for, and chose to take it I should say), right before I went into the hospital, because my whole psych med regime needed 'altering' and I was using the Vicodin for relief from the depression that Effexor had stopped working for.

I've posted before that my shrink prescribes small amounts (10mg/day) for people with treatment-resistant panic disorder and they do very well. I also know people who take it for depression and don't increase their dose. I take morphine (legally) for the same reasons and don't go over my dose either- although the euphoria quickly wore off. take care, judy
