Has anyone ever gotten addicted to pain killers? I got addicted to them a few times really bad. I started taking Vicodin for migraines and found that it also gave me a high. Then I started taking them just to get that 'high', then I started the 'doctor switching' just so I'd be sure I'd have my 'stock' of Vicodin. I went into detox in January 2002~~~pure hell after getting up to about 30 Tabs a day. First the 5/500, then 7.5/500, then the good ole 10/500. Shakes, sweats, crying, shivers, anger, etc. made me realize that I would NEVER touch this candy again. Huh huh... yeah right........ welp~I did. Last summer, I went into the ER for chest pains and the dop gave me Percocet. I abused that. My mom twisted her ankle earlier this year and in a whisper I said to her 'ask him for Vicodin' of course she took some but you can imagine who took the rest. Just last April, I got a massage, slept on my shoulder wrong I guess, woke up, couldn't turn my head to the left at all, so my brother gave me some Tylenol 3. They helped and I could finally turn my head after about 3 days and I didn't need to take them anymore...............or so I thought. So, back on the merry-go-round, I finished up the whole bottle eventually, narcotics make everyone I know sick, they make me feel great. As of present, I'm not using, but I miss it. Don't know if I'll use again, guess I'm a 'closet' addict? Does anyone relate???? Do you think I'm an addict? I'm not sure to be honest. If I get around pot and some friends I would take a few hits sure. Never done coke, or heroin, none of the hard stuff no way too scared. LOL I know I have a major addictive persoanltiy that's a given. But these narcotics, sometimes give me, anyway, the high I've always been searching for in life. Has this happened to anyone else?
