the nz government used pacifists...

Posted by alexandra_k on February 9, 2022, at 12:22:30

to get Maaori to lay down weapons and arms and sign the treaty.

then, instead of upholding the treaty, the british crown did really very very little to uphold the rights of maaori as settlers took their land etc and invited them to churches and barred the doors and set the church on fire (apparently that actually happened to get rid of a bunch of maaori at some point or other in the early history of NZ)...

but then they wanted to ship them overseas to go die in the wars. imagine world war one. dig a trench for you to be conveniently shot dead in. anyway, it wasn't so convenient, then, for people to be preaching about pacifism and not taking up arms.

the government recently imprisoned brian tamaki... he is something something to do with destiny church. he seems to be a charasmatic leader, indeed... something something about the freedom and rights party... so they are making him out to be a political leader. i don't know if he is registered or whatever you have to be so that people can actually vote for him... but anyway the judge ruled that he isn't allowed to attend protests etc etc. they are accusing him of encouraging people not to be vaccinated etc etc. from what I have seen... he isn't encouraging sedition... he is pro people's rights to refuse medical treatment if that is what they choose for themselves, however. which is something our government will not tolerate. our government knows better than you what is right for you, you see, and you are expected to take one for the team. even if it comes down to digging yourself a trench for you to die in on demand.

anyway...

there is a protest outside parliament...

they say it is a confused scramble more like a hippy festival... they say... they say... they say... but of course brian tamaki is prohibited from attending (by the courts). who choose to uphold the law in that respect (and that respect only, seems to be) by taking him into police custody and even holding him in prison... to prevent his attending public protest...

nobody from parliament supports the protestors, apparently. i didn't realise the point or purpose of our supposedly elected officials was to support protestors. i thought the people were supposed to support parliament. parliament's job was to listen to the people. they aren't listening to the people.

we don't extradite to hong kong anymore.

ahahhahahahahhahahahaha for how many years have we failed to extradite kim.com to the USA to stand trial? for copyright infringement stuff to do with megauploads? do we wonder why we pay a premium tax on entertainment etc produced etc overseas? we refuse to uphold international laws. we refuse to uphold our own laws that we have, also (that seem to have been written by people trying to have us be part of the developed world -- but we don't uphold any of them).

whatever nz says about China... appears to be true of itself. of nz. that's why we only issue very very reluctant statements about things going on in China.

it took a remarkably long time before officials in nz would agree with the developed world (agree with China authorities even) that what was going on with the uighur people (for example) was not acceptable. was wrong.

we don't have a problem with it. you see. our officials go 'well, it isn't really any worse or any different from what is going on in nz on a daily basis'.

we are still at the point of refusing to acknowledge complaints. that is to say all of our government complaints resolution procedures or processes seem designed only to record who dares complain so they can be swiftly punished.

we have the lowest rate of perceived corruption because the government will not employ anybody to prosecute. they claim to be 'conflicted out'. thats the only reason why they get the government contract.

they hire people not willing and / or able to do the job. so the job is not done. is not done by them. is not done by anyone.

i suppose they don't pay them 1/2 or even 1/4 as much as they say they do, often, too.

i think it highly likely that the only way you get to make judge (for example) is because you demonstrate that you are a rapist or a murderer or whatever... else you yourself demonstrate your supporting or aiding and abeting these things etc etc. so that you never will provide any actual consequences for people involved in these actitives in nz.

and, of course, the jails are full with people like... pacifists. or brian tamaki. leader of the whatever party that the nz government refuses to acknowledge.

this is not a free country, at all. it is not a country that is rule by law.

it is not a developed country.
