Predictably, The Exorcist was rather tame, and unlike Rosemary's Baby which filled me with as much dread five years ago as it did twenty, I didn't feel the suspense. I was surprised how well made the film was made and I loved the color palette. The pacing is very slow by today's standards, (and I miss that), but is still engrossing.
There was the gruesome crucifix scene. That was a little rattling. And the brief sexual profanity.
Horror is not my kid's favorite genre, but we've enjoyed Hereditary and The Babadook.
