Gratitude

Posted by Angela2 on February 5, 2015, at 13:54:18

I think it can be really easy to get completely caught up in what's negative in my life sometimes, and feeling like I don't measure up. Like I feel bad about myself around my neighbors, for instance. so I thought I'd write a list of awesome things that i've got going on in my life. Here it is:

1. I have an appt. with a new therapist next week. I feel really good about this, hopeful, and excited.

2. I decided not to date for a whole year. Instead, I'm going to work on myself. It will be the year of Angela. lol. Today is day 4. And even though negative things are coming up, I'm glad they are, because i think they're important. I feel really good about my decision and I'm excited.

3. Tea. tea always makes me happy. My current favorite is green tea with ginger.

4. I'm going to a poetry reading tomorrow. I've never been to one before, but I'm going to try to keep an open mind. Stay curious with no expectations.

5. Someone I wasn't sure I cared for, and who I didn't think cared for me, wrote me an awesome email. At the end, they said "Be well in all ways." It really put me in a good mood. :)

6. I watched a movie called "The Skeleton Twins", yesterday. It was really good and I felt like I could relate to it. It touches a lot on suicide and depression, but despite this, it is also funny, and heart warming. I highly recommend it.

7. I think there's an empowering feeling about saying, this is where i am right now, this is what I'm doing, and I'm ok with it. For instance, I don't have a job, but I'm on disability, and I'm ok with that. I'm working on myself. And that is working for me. Regardless of what people with certain political beliefs may think, I am grateful for what the government is doing for me.
