amy stuff. died 3 years ago on 7/23.

i thought i posted this here but don't see it.

I was at the hospital when she was born
And the day mom and dad took her home
And saw her a five year old ham
Destined to blaze a trail at something

I watched her sing as the years progressed
In her room in her favorite little girlie dress
A play microphone the mirror her stage
She jumped on the bed and drew hearts on the page

A broken family in vulnerable years
I was beside her to wipe away the tears
I felt her anger, her rage, her fears
When she slept I whispered in her ears, don't give up baby.

I took a back seat as she took off
Astounded everyone that heard that voice
Some prefer others that's their choice
We prefer genius here.

She hit the high life and there was no doubt
Her generation produced no others before her
Their talent combined fit in her little finger
She climbed mountains then rolled back down, just for the rush.

Soon the headlines every tabloids cover
Defined her in the small minds of others
Listen pal get me pics and the worst the better
we'll bring down this bitch so clever

I don't care about 27, I cared about her
Jesus died at 33 his teachings died too
The roar of the crowd while he died on the stage
Ridiculed and despised by blinding rage
(Father why have you forsaken me? He too died alone)

I was in her room on her last night
All i could do was watch as her eyes grew dark
Please stop please stop there's so much more
I saw her spirit depart, and so my heart.

It's a choice for all that struggle
See nothing as a miracle or everything the same
Until i die she's my girl, still i'm lost
But i prefer the miracle no matter the cost.

I love you, we love you, but you couldn't love yourself
I put her mothers book back on the shelf
Stared in the distance till the sun came up
Eighty years old but 80's not enough.

Thank you baby, butterfly kisses
We loved you then as we love you now.
My tears never ending an ocean or more
Blood red drops fall from my eyes
They disappear before they hit the floor

It's the price we pay for loving another
Father-mother-sister-brother
Let others ridicule her as they wish
Just another in one ear out the other
