But every job I held since moving here inevitably led to several people telling me unsavory jokes that I would have to ask them not to tell me. It branded me as an outsider, a liberal, a foreigner, and not a person to be trusted.
But aside from that, the summers here are brutal. High humidity and high temperatures combined with the annual hurricane season make me physically uncomfortable until late October, realistically.
Why am I here? My spouse has family here, which is why we moved here in the first place. But we've been estranged from them for going on a year and a half. I am pretty fed up by now.
The dolphins, though. I get to see dolphins every day if I can make it out the front door to the condominium's dock. That is like a big gift, right there.
So stuck.
