I was deeply upset by the scenes of the mother carrying her son through the rain trying insanely to get her him to the village after the death of her husband. I will put Tree of Life in my queue. The director made Thin Red Line, one of my favorite films. Though I cry buckets throughout I feel it is worthwhile. I agree that the bath scene was (in Melencholia) true at least to my experience. How impossible it was to bathe or do simple things, though of course the actor looked healthy (IMHO if I am truly picky) because I was skin and bone by then.
