Absolutely, yes.
I spent over 10 years trying to get back to a 9-5 type existence. But I found that I couldn't work to that schedule. In between work trials, I was totally disabled. But I kept trying to find a hole that matched my peg.
I recently came out of an episode of total disability, only to find that by reaching out to others on the internet, I found a job that I could manage.
My recovery is a wobbly thing, but I found a wobbly job.
I don't know that my experience can be illustrative, or not. But, I never gave up, even when I didn't know where I was going.
Hope, was always my fuel.
